* For the first time the FBI has placed an animal rights activist on the most wanted terrorist list.
Daniel Andreas San Diego is charged with bombing two corporate offices in Califorinia in 2003. The blast caused a great deal of property damage but no deaths occurred. Police believe that Diego bombed the buildings because they were associated with animal testing labs. The bombs that were used were homemade. Diego is also said to have a tattoo of an explosive on the side of his body.
I believe that the police need to hurry up and find this guy. He should not be allowed to roam freely in society because he has proved himself to be a dangerous man. Even though no one died from his explosians damgae was still caused. Therefore, he should be prosecuted for his actions.
*Silent heart attacks are more common then most people realize.
Undiagnosed heart attacks affect about 200,000 people in the United States each year. Many times these heart attacks don’t show any signs or symptoms so people are not aware that they are experiencing a heart attack. As a result people are not going to the hospital to get their heart checked out. Silent heart attacks are caused by the same factors which cause regular heart attacks : smoking, family history, diabetes and stress.
This is a very serious issue. The effects of an heart attack can be very damaging especially if it goes undetected. The public should be made more aware of this condition. It’s scary to think that the heart could be failing without producing any pain or symptoms. Older people should definitely get screened for silent heart attacks.
*A woman was arrested for tresspassing on Brittney Spears property.
The woman, identified as Miranda Tozier-Robbins was discovered looking through Britney Spears window. She was carrying a bookbag and video equipment. She was asked to leave the property by security but she refused. Police had to eventually come and escort her off the premises, which resulted in her arrest. Robbins is charged with tresspassing and disorderly conduct, but she was released on bail.
I don’t know what the deal with this woman is. If she is paparrazi she isn’t doing a good job at all, considering she had to be arrested. People need to leave stars alone, they take it too far to try to get a glimpse of their personal life. I’m sure that this woman would’t like anyone staring at her in the privacy of her home.

*Chris Brown returned to court this Monday for his arraigment in the Rihanna case.
His options are to ask for a plea or to request another delay. He is charged with assault which is considered a felony and also for making criminal threats. If Chris is proven guilty his sentencing can range from probation to up to 4 years and 8 months. Rihanna will not be attending the trial.
It seems as though the community is divided with their ruling of the case. If Chris Brown is sentenced to jail time this could ultimately affect his career. The whole incident is unfortunate.
*It is now proven that going without one’s usual amount of caffeine can indeed trigger withdrawal symptoms.
On average 80 to 90% of people in the United States consume caffeine on a daily basis. Several reasons that someone might have to reduce their coffee intake are: pregnancy, preparing for surgery or change in diet. The main symptoms of caffeine withdrawal are severe headaches. A good substitute for caffeine is tea.
It is important that the public learn about the risk of these withdrawal symptoms. Consuming too much caffeine is a problem for the majority of the country. I love soda as much as the next person but I don’t want to become dependant on it.
*Sandra Cantu has been missing for 9 days and her mother believes she has been kidnapped.
Her mother feels that her daughter must have known her kidnapper. She says the last time she saw her daughter was on Friday when she went to ask her mother could she go outside and play. Police are not sure if Sandra was abducted but they are looking into it. There is now a $26,00o award for any information that leads to Sandra’s return.
Kidnapping is all too familiar, and that is tragic, Hopefully her daughter is stil alive. All anybody can do is wish for the best.

Addie Polk, 91 shot herself in the chest twice last year after she continually received eviction notices. Her home was 101 years old and she and her late husband had owned it since 1970. But due to the recession Polk was not able to keep up with the payments and therefore took a loan out with the Sally May Company. She wasn’t able to stay on track with the loan payments so she shot herself in response to being evicted from her house. She died yesterday but her death is not believed to be related to the shootings from last year.
Polk’s actions show the desperativity of individuals trying to hold onto their homes. Many people are still losing their homes because of the recession. It is truly a tragedy when a 91 year old woman sees no other answer to her problems. This is a clear indication that something needs to be done immediately regarding home foreclosures.
Madonna recently met the biological father of her adoptive son David for the first time. David was adopted in 2006 and she wishes to maintain a relationship with his father. David was adopted from his native country of Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world. While they were over there visiting, Madonna took interest in a 3 year old girl that she now wishes to adopt. She is currently awaiting her court date to see if this adoption will be possible.
It is not suprising at all that Madonna wishes to adopt another child. She and Angelina Jolie seem to be on a roll. Its admirable that she wants to take these children out of extreme poverty to give them a better life.
Last Friday a woman was assaulted in her car in Middleborough, Massachusetts. After she was rear-ended she proceeded to get out the car to confront the reckless driver. But instead of approaching the other driver he quickly shoved the woman back into the car. He then sexually attacked her while many other drivers continued to fly by them on Route 28. It wasn’t until a single car saw the woman laying unconsiously hanging out of her car that the police were called.
This is a very scary situation because something like this could happen to anyone. The worst part about the assault is that it was done during the afternoon. A common time that should have not allowed an attack like this to occur. Hopefully this horrific man will be found and prosecuted.

*Top model auditions for cycle 13 ends in riot.
On Saturday, March 14th auditions for top model were held in Manhattan at the Park Central Hotel. As a result of the riot 6 people were injured and 3 people were arrested for causing mayhem. As a result of these riots the auditions were shutdown, leaving many hopefuls in tears.
As someone who experienced this riot I can say that it was true chaos. There were thousands of girls there and not enough police officers. There was no structure in how the lines were organized. It was a very dangerous situation from the beginning. Once the riot began the crowd turned into a stampede. I saw people falling and getting trampled on. I believe that Top Model and the NYPD should have been more prepared for such a big crowd.
*Captain Michael Fontana, a US Air Force nurse has been charged with the death of three of his patients.
Capt. Fontana gave deadly doses of medication to his patients that were critically ill. Fontana was known to administer wrong dosages of prescriptions in the past. He is charged with a total of 4 charges for violtaing Aricle 118 and 113 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. He is no longer working as a nurse but he still remains at the hospital. He is innocent until proven guilty.
In my opinion Fontana should not be considered innocent until proven guilty. If he has a history of slipping up and giving wrong dosages of medicine then perhaps it is not a mistake. I hope they really look into this case because his actions are very suspicious. Its one thing to make a mistake once or twice but continuosly is ridiculous. But more importantly innocent people are dying because of his actions, and this is not ok.
*Only 1 woman survived the tragic slaughter of 5 women in the Lane Bryant store of Tinley Park, Illinois last February.
After a gunman came into Lane Bryant about 10am on February 2, 2008 he held up the place. He forced all the women into the backroom and ducked tape them. One woman was able to place a call to 911 before she was murdered. All 6 women were shot execution style, however the only surviving witness acted as if she were dead to save her life. She was then able to give an accurate description of the killer when police arrived at the scene. The gunman got away with a couple hundred dollars and he has not been captured yet.
This woman is very lucky to survive this tragic ideal. It is very unfortunate that 5 other women had to lose their life over a couple hundred dollars. I hope the police find this gunman because he needs to be brought to justice immediately. There is entirely too much crime going on in America.

*The tragic collapse of the Historic Archive of the city of Cologne, left 3 people missing.
Originally when the building collapsed 9 people were reported missing, but the number is now reduced to 3. The collapse of the building in Cologne, Germany caused the collapse of 2 other buildings as well. Many people were not injured because the building did not collapse quickly, so therefore people were able to safetly escape. However, with the demise of the building came the loss of documents over 1,000 years old.
This is indeed a tragic event because some people may have loss their life and the city lost an historic building. But things could have been a lot worse. There could have been many more casualities. Maybe the city should look into renovating old buildings more often. That way, a collapse like this would be less likely to happen again.
*Most people never think about their spit for more than 2 seconds, but scientist look deeply into the anatomy of saliva.
Scientist onced believed that saliva was was different in people that were not from the same region. For example, a person from Asia would have different saliva then a person from the United States. But they find that one’s saliva is just as differnt than their next door neighbor. There is 1 thing that varies from region to region and that is the amount of amylase that is in one’s saliva. Amylase is a digestive enzyme that turns starch into sugar, and the amount present varies from the different diets of each region. Saliva’s main purpose is to provide tatse buds on the tongue.
I thought that this was an interesting article because I never think about whats going on inside of my mouth. In fact I never think about what is going on inside of other people’s mouths either. This article brought to attention the importance of saliva. It makes us appreciate the little things in our lives.
*Mac announced that they are now coming out with new computers.
The new computers are called the Mac Pro, and they are considered to have more graphics. The computers come with 24 inch minitors. These new computers are priced at $1,499 and are said to have twice the memory and storage. It is also the most energy efficient computer out right now.
It is important for Mac to come out with an affordable computer during these times. The economy is suffering but yet people still need to have computers for school and work. Hopefully with this price more people will be able to purchase a computer. Right now this seems to be the best deal out there.

*America’s favorite place to visit, Disney World has announced that it is also suffering economic problems due to the recession.
Disney World is the largest employer in the United States with 62,000 workers. There are going to be drastic cuts that will ultimatley leave many unemployed. One of the downfalls to Disney World’s financial status is the lack of tourism, which the park made a lot of money off of. Other little businesses in the area are also suffering as a result of these chain of events.
I was never aware that Disney World employed that many people. The economy was really be doing bad if the country’s favorite theme park is forced to scale down. This is scary because things look like they will keep getting worse before they get better. I feel bad for all those people who are soon to be out of work.
* More bodies have been found Albuquerque, New Mexico where several have been found earlier this month.
These bodies are believed to have been there from 2003-2005. None of the bodies are thought to have relations amongst each other except for a mother and her fetus. Also, only one body has been able to be identified through dental records. The previous jane doe was identified as Victoria Chavez, who was a former prostitute and drug user. She like many other prostitutes were reported missing, never to return.
After I read this article I wondered why these bodies were buried in that area in the first place. It also left me wondering would the scientist be able to someday identify the rest of the bodies. If this is going on in New Mexico, imagine how many other places have undiscovered burial sites. This is something that definitely needs to be more looked into.
*Various forms of cancer in women are linked to drinking alcoholic beverages .
A study taken in the UK found that women who consume alcohol are more likely to develop some tupe of cancer in their lifettime. The most common forms are liver, rectal and breast cancer. In women that also smoke they are at risk for cancer of the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, and larynx. These forms of cancer are most likely to arise in middle aged women, although there is no definite age to develop these various forms.
I was never aware of these effects from drinking alcohol, this article really opened my eyes. I think if more people were aware of this that they might perhaps be less alcoholics. I also found it interesting that women are more likely to get cancer than men. This is really an important issue that ladies need to think about because it could potentially kill them.

*Many know the dangers of second hand smoke but most don’t know that it can be a leading cause in dementia.
Studies are know showing that large quantities of second hand smoke can lead to dementia in adults 50 and over. Due to the fact that exposure to second hand smoke can lead to heart disease and stroke, this is the driving force in developing dementia. A large part in determing the risk of one having dementia depends on the level of cotinine that is found in their system.
I think people need to be aware of this serious condition because then maybe they will be more mindful of their surroundings. Dementia is a very serious disease and children that are constantly exposed to second hand smoke may eventually develop it. This should make more people want to quit smoking since they know all the evils that it can bring.
*Co-founder of Death Row Records Suge Knight was attacked early Monday morning.
Knight was attacked by two men identified as Robert Carnes Jr., and Thomas Anderson. Evidently the two groups were having an altercation inside the V.I.P. section of W Hotel. From there it escalated and Knight was hit twice in the head. He was taken to the hospital and treated for facial injuries. The two men remain incarcerated.
It is not surprising that Knight was attacked because he is notorious to being linked to some tupe of violence in the music industry. Many still feel that he was an acessory to Biggie Small’s death although this has never been proved. Perhaps Knight deserved this attack for all the mayhem he has caused along the years.
*Now that A-Rods, steriod use is confirmed he is speaking out about it.
Alex Rodriguez, states that he has not taken steriods since 2003. In fact he implies that it was his cousin that introduced him to the drug unknowingly that it was a steroid. This is his reasoning for using it, but he takes sole responisibilty for his actions.
This incident is not surprising to me because many pro athletes find theirselves in jams like this. I do believe that it is admirable of him to take responsibilty for his actions instead of easily blaming others. One thing is for sure, I think A-Rod has learned his lesson.

*Could last weekends affairs be the end of the music industraries prince and princess love affair?
America’s golden boy, R&B singer Chris Brown is facing charges of domestic abuse. Brown was accused of attacking an unkown woman in his car Sunday night. The 911 call captures this jane doe woman screaming into the phone. Many people believe that the victim is Brown’s long time girlfriend, R&B singer Rihanna. However, none of these accusations or assumptions have been confirmed.
I am extremely shocked with this situation. I, like everyone else was captured by Chris Brown’s wholesome. clean cut image. Now this story takes all that away from him. His actions of turning himself in make me wonder what was really going on in that car. I’m not to concerned about who the woman was because no female should be subject to abuse whether they are a star or not. If he is charged this might affect his career. I don’t know how America is going to side with him on this because there are allegedly 2 stars involved.
* Inmates in California may be hitting the streets way before their release date.
Federal judges decided that the prison systems in California are overcrowded and that 40% of the inmate population will be released. The federal judges feel that this massive population is infringing upon the rights of the prisoners and also the correction officers. The idea is to let the inmates out that are considered low risk or the ones that are just in there for violating probabtion. However, many people are not in agreeance with this decision because it is considered dangerous.
In my opinion I think that the state should just build a larger prison, because more than likely if they release these inmates they will probably end up behind bars again. Its going to be a never ending cycle. Therefore these judges need to realize that this is not the answer. And even if they let these current inmates out, its not like the state is going to stop locking people up. Thats definitely not going to happen, so this whole idea is going to fail.

*Now more then ever couples are seperating and children are left to float between both parents.
Single parenting inevitably leads to dating and of course the children will be involved in this process. But some women feel that dating a man with children is the road to disaster. According to the author dating a man with kids will always leave you in second place. And although the woman knows that the children deserve to come first, she will still feel resentment for being in second place.
This article made some valid points but at the same time I thought it was a little ridiculous. Reading this article made me feek like anyone who is a single parent might as well just give up on their love life; which is crazy. Nobody wants to be alone, and that is what this article is entailing. I understand chosing to not be with a man that has a wife because that is totally understandable. But ruling out children is unrealistic and going to be pretty hard to find in this day anyway.
